UTS Learning Portal
Taking the learning experience to the next level
UTS Case study by Robert Pregardt-Paur
Overview
In my experience, when I taught at UTS university in 2018, the system felt like it had a lack of usable accessibility to an online study platform where students could enrol into their subjects and find their answers during their studies.
Project Kickoff
At the beginning of the project I had a few assumptions which I had to research to prove if other teachers and
students felt the same way as me.
In order to determine business modelling and design thinking integration, I facilitated a Gorilla interview in order to determine:
“Who” their audience is?
“What” could be improved on your current student portal?.
“How” best can they interact with each other to exchange information?
Insights from the interview
I have interviewed 7 participant, 2 teachers and 5 students. I have asked all of the questions and the participants answered anonymously in writing. My goal was to understand the challenges the students and teachers are facing and to create a solution for their problems.
Then I have created an affinity mapping with all the insights I received and grouped them into themes.
